The Role:

The Human Resource Manager will lead and direct the day to day functions of the Human Resources department in Atlantic Canada. The HR Manager will enforce, recommend and communicate company policies and best HR practices, support standard recruiting and hiring practices, and is responsible for information requests required for compliance. This role supervises the HR Generalists and recruiters throughout Atlantic Canada and regular travel to all four provinces is required. This role is based out of our St. George, NB office.  


  • Recruits, interviews, hires, and trains new staff in the HR department.
  • Oversees the daily workflow of the HR department.
  • Handles discipline and termination of employees in accordance with company policy.
  • Partners with Company leadership to understand current and future talent needs, recruiting, retention, and succession planning.
  • Provides support and guidance to HR team, management, and other staff when complex and sensitive issues arise; will be required to execute action in delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing.
  • Collaborates with departmental managers to understand skills and competencies required for job openings.
  • Supports learning and development programs and initiatives that provide internal development opportunities for employees.
  • Participates in employee disciplinary meetings and investigations.
  • Maintains compliance with federal, provincial, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Maintains knowledge of best practices, regulatory changes, and new technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Proficiency with ADP or other HCM systems.
  • Must be able to travel regularly within Canada and other locations, as required.

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma or degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of ten years of human resource management experience
  • CPHR is highly desired.
