    PLASTIC WELDER

     

    Kelly Cove Salmon Ltd., a division of Cooke Aquaculture Inc., a dynamic and growing east coast family company, with Platinum Member status in the Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program, is offering a unique opportunity for a highly motivated individual to join the Company’s Plastic Welding Team as a Plastic Welder.  This position is based out of Bridgewater, Nova Scotia.

    The Role:

    As a result of our robust growth, we are expanding our team of professionals.  Reporting to the Regional Saltwater Production Manager, this position will be responsible for welding HDPE components with welding equipment as specified by layouts, blue prints, engineering drawings, work orders, or verbal instructions.

     

    Primary duties are (not limited to):

    • The operation of hand tools (both power and non-power) and grinders;
    • Inspecting and correcting welds as necessary to meet product specifications;
    • Follow job order specifications, and/or work orders;
    • Assist in the fabrication or welding of multi-component parts;
    • Inspect equipment and notify maintenance of required repairs;
    • Maintain accurate records and other duties as assigned.

      Qualifications/Requirements/Attributes:

    • Familiar with a variety of welding concepts, practices, and procedures;
    • Ability to understand diagrams, read blueprints, and/or other printed instructional material in the welding of products or parts;
    • Familiar with extruding welding equipment such as extruder guns, butt fusion cradles, facer plates, heat plates, hydraulic valves, and gas cylinders;
    • Strong organizational, communication and interpersonal skills;
    • Experienced with Safety Management Systems;
